Originally from a small town in North Dakota, Cole Riley developed a strong work ethic working weekends on his family’s cattle ranch alongside his beloved sister. Driven by his unwavering faith in God, Cole earned his Business degree from Charis Bible College. He then became a project manager, designing and building luxurious cultured stone waterfalls and pool grottos for clients both in the United States and internationally.
Guided by his faith and altruistic spirit, Cole has embarked on mission trips across the globe, bringing his passion for Jesus to citizens in Africa, Germany, France, Spain, Czechia, and Hungary. He believes that everyone has a designated purpose, and his purpose is to help others realize theirs.
A trip to northern Michigan to attend a friend’s wedding in his early 30s turned into a life-changing decision for Cole Riley, who ultimately relocated to enjoy the changing seasons. Before long, a chance conversation, coupled with a great deal of prayer, Iot only revealed the perfect place for his mother to enjoy her retirement years but also inspired a new adventure: revitalizing local senior care homes.
In April 2023, Cole converted the former Ritters Assisted Care Facility into the flagship location for Life of Riley Senior Care, now known as Life of Riley Meadows. Building on this success, Cole brought on Jessi Rokos as Life of Riley’s Executive Administrator. Jessi is a Traverse City native, recently retired after more than two decades at the Grand Traverse Pavilions, with experience in numerous of departments during her tenure. Together, Life of Riley expanded further in 2024 with the acquisition of two additional facilities: Life of Riley Maples (formerly Woodside Assisted Living) and Life of Riley Oaks (formerly Southridge Assisted Living).
Cole acknowledges that it may seem unusual for someone of his generation to choose to work with the aging community. However, he is quick to explain that just because seniors may not be as physically active, it doesn’t mean they lack purpose. He is dedicated to helping them discover their purpose, recognizing the gift of being surrounded by their wisdom, laughter, and stories. This mission fuels his commitment to ensuring each resident at a Life of Riley Senior Care location feels loved and part of a greater family.
When not at Life of Riley Senior Care or attending church, Cole enjoys spending time outdoors, playing pickleball, golf, and savoring the fresh local foods of the region.
A Traverse City native with generations of deep family roots in the area, Jessi Rokos has always embraced hard work and community care. At 17, she balanced high school, a business office technology course, and three jobs, including one at Grand Traverse Pavilions (GTP), where she began her journey in elder care.
After her time at GTP, Jessi embarked on a new chapter and ultimately joined Life of Riley, where she and the owner share a vision for redefining assisted living. Inspired by her grandparents, Jessi is passionate about ensuring every Life of Riley resident feels valued, respected, and purposeful. She honors their lifetime of wisdom while building meaningful relationships along the way.
Outside of her work, family remains at the heart of Jessi’s life. She treasures time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family, spending summers at dirt tracks with her father, brother, and youngest daughter, who share a love of racing. Whether supporting her daughters’ many endeavors or helping her dad in the garage, Jessi finds joy and purpose in the closeness of her family and the memories they create together. Through her dedication to family, community, and the residents she serves, Jessi exemplifies a compassionate and purpose-driven life, making a lasting impact in every phase of her journey.
As a former nurse, Cole's mother, Ruth, has been instrumental in cultivating a strong sense of community within the Life of Riley family, starting with Life of Riley Meadows.
At Life of Riley Senior Care, family is at the heart of everything we do. This extends to our own families as well as the close-knit bonds we’ve built with our incredible residents.
